The anti Covid 19 vaccines have arrived at the Santa Maria di Terni hospital. Starting tomorrow, at 9 o’clock, at the Polyclinics administering the drug to staff. The health workers (both from the hospital and from the Umbria 2 Local Health Authority) who will be vaccinated have been identified by the Region according to their occupational risk. The lists are then sent to the vaccination team from week to week. In fact this morning the vaccines were sent from Rome and at 10:40 am, were delivered to the hospital pharmacy following all safety protocols, in the presence of the doctor Monya Costantini director of the hospital pharmacy, the medical director Sandro Vendetti and the extraordinary commissioner of Santa Maria, Pasquale Chiarelli.
The first to receive the box containing the doses of the vaccine in his hands was a pharmacy warehouse worker, Marco Persichetti.
“I was very happy and honored to be the first to take the container of Covid vaccines with my own hands – said Persichetti – we finally found a way out, in the hope of being able to return to a normal life”.
“We are all very excited – said Dr. Costantini – we now have hope for the future. It was an important effort by the whole scientific community to be able to obtain a vaccine to fight this dramatic pandemic.”.
The vaccinations will be carried out by special teams of the hospital consisting of doctors, nurses and socio-health operators and administrative staff.
