A vaccine against the new coronavirus, which is being developed by the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, has begun to be tested in Brazil, the second country with the largest number of cases and deaths due to the pandemic.
The testing began in the State of São Paulo, the richest and most populous in Brazil, in the last week-end, after approval by the Agência Nacional de vigilância Sanitária (brazilian health surveillance agency), is responsible for overseeing the tests and the medicines.
The initiative is coordinated by a Central point of Reference for Immunization in Special (CREATE) at the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp), and has the financial support of the Foundation, Lemann, maintained, and created by a billionaire, the brazilian Jorge Paulo Lemann.
