The vaccine situation discussed by the Prime Minister with the Romanian Health Minister

Health Minister Florian Bodog meets Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu to discuss the emergencies of the Ministry of Health.

The Minister of Health, Florian Bodog, meets Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu on Thursday morning, May 18, to discuss the emergencies of the Ministry of Health.

Among these is the situation of vaccines and the need to simplify the procedure for purchasing them, including through a government emergency ordinance if necessary, the health minister said, after announcing that the number of people who have died from measles had reached 26.

He specified that vaccination coverage has decreased both due to the refusal of parents to immunize their children, and because the authorities have not provided the necessary quantities of vaccine.

Florian Bodog also said that the procurement procedure for measles vaccine doses, which should cover Romania’s needs for the whole year, has begun.
