“This is the most important step for the Secretary of Education but to us as parents it does not guarantee anything, the vaccine itself is not enough to be able to return to the classrooms, for this would have to be the largest number of vaccinated, In Mexico, not only mothers and fathers live in a house, there are also uncles and grandparents and until today only the grandparents are armored ”.
He considered that a determination to return to the classroom could put thousands of boys and girls at risk, a month and a half after the end of the 2020-2021 school year, it would be very hasty to speak of a return to face-to-face classes next August already that vaccination continues to be slow and as of yet, the vaccine has not yet been approved for children under 16 years of age.
“It is something difficult for us to resume right now, we know that many parents are desperate to want their children to return and we know that the situation has become difficult but we must not rush, we must not make decisions that later lead us to regret as it has. happened in other places ”.
CHILDREN WOULD BE WHO BRING THE VIRUS HOME
He stressed that the Federal Ministry of Education assures them that in a possible return there will be enough water and soap in each of the instructions for the safety of their children but as parents they consider that this is not enough because a whole strategy is needed that really gives them a reassurance when sending their children to classrooms.
“By studies that have been done worldwide; The virus is also in the environment, it is transmitted by aerosols, by particles that generally disintegrate when there are closed spaces, imagine in a classroom where there is no ventilation because there are air conditioners, this is very difficult, it is not only that they are vaccinated there are many things behind and that have to be prevented to avoid the risk and that children are infected, they would be the ones who carry the virus to homes ”.
Other schools in the country are already preparing for a return to classes once the teachers have been vaccinated, places that are with few active cases of Covid-19 such as Campeche, has already started with the process of returning to the classrooms, the same case for Coahuila who As of next May 17, he will return to face-to-face classes, meanwhile on the 24th of this month it is expected that the process of returning to schools will begin in the states of Chiapas, Veracruz, Nayarit and Tamaulipas.
“We must abide by what the authority marks and the ideal thing is to be on a green traffic light as in other states that are already returning, that the infections are minimal or null because it puts the health of children at risk and it is difficult but we are going to follow up on all this, when they are vaccinated and with protocols inside the classrooms to wait for the order, we will be on hold in August September ”.
A STAGED RETURN
Regarding the protocols for a safe return, the president of the State Association of Parents, mentioned that they have already been worked on but some tunings and details are still missing, the mask and healthy distance is what will be being followed the most .
