In a few days, from Wednesday, September 15, to continue to exercise their activity, health professionals must at least have received a first injection of the vaccine against Covid-19. Some demonstrate every Saturday and prefer to give up their white coats than to be vaccinated. 12% of caregivers, around 300,000 people, would not be vaccinated and therefore risk suspension of work and salary.
On the side of Nice, in the Alpes-Maritimes, several firefighters have shown their determination against the measure. “We feel a little trapped and used when it suits. We are caregivers, we have to threaten ourselves to get vaccinated. But when it doesn’t suit to give a bonus, we are not considered as caregivers”, considers a firefighter. A lawyer from Nice has filed an urgent application before the Council of State. “It is a blackmail to the freedom to work and to the remuneration”, estimates Jérôme Campestrini, lawyer at the bar of Nice.
