Currently, I am in Vaslui County 1994 active cases of coronavirus.

We remind you that:

In Romania, the administration of the third dose has started for people who have completed six months of receiving the second dose.

Dose 3 is strongly recommended:

  • people at high risk of developing severe forms – vulnerable people: those over 65, with chronic diseases (regardless of age), people in medical and social centers and other vulnerable categories provided in the national vaccination strategy;
  • people at high risk of exposure: medical, social and educational staff.

Access to vaccination is also allowed to other population categories, who have at least 6 months from the administration of dose 2 of the vaccine, regardless of whether they have a history of passing through the disease. The third dose (booster) is performed only with messenger RNA vaccines, regardless of the initial regimen. At the same time, people vaccinated with Astra Zeneca receive dose 3 with one of the vaccines produced by Pfizer & BioNTech or Spikevax (Moderna).

Vaccination remains the safe and effective solution to overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, and the vaccines used in Romania are authorized by the EMA, the most important decision-making body, which brings together experts at European level.

  • vaccines significantly reduce the risk of infection;
  • vaccines significantly reduce the risk of severe disease and limit the spread of the virus;
  • vaccines significantly reduce the risk of hospitalization;
  • vaccines significantly reduce the risk of death;
  • vaccines together with non-pharmaceutical protective measures are the main ways to limit the effects of the pandemic.

The Vaslui Public Health Directorate supports and recommends vaccination. We encourage the population to be immunized by vaccination, so we will limit the spread of COVID – 19.
