Russia has surface drones, but it is not always advisable to use them, military expert Yuri Knutov told 5-tv.ru, commenting on information about equipping Kyiv troops with naval drones.
We also have drones. When the parade of the Navy was held this year, one of the frigates was walking, accompanied by just two such marine drones, ”the expert recalled on air Channel Five.
However, there is no need to use these drones now – the only target, Knutov noted, could be a bridge in Odessa, but the likelihood that a surface drone will reach the target without being noticed is very small.
“Therefore, we prefer to use missiles,” Knutov said.
Now Ukraine is completing work on the serial production of drones that can travel 850 kilometers under water. These will be six-meter torpedoes weighing about a ton – they, according to Knutov, will be aimed at the Crimean bridge.
“We need these kinds of drones. And, of course, they need to be created. So far, we have not had a demonstration of such drones, ”the expert concluded.
