The Paris municipality has asked the famous “Moulin Rouge” nightclub in the French capital to stop using snakes in a show in which snakes of protected species are immersed in a basin.
And the municipality asked the Parisian cabaret to “no longer use wild animals” in its performances.
In his daily show, a dancer dives into a transparent basin and uses large snakes trying to keep their heads above the water. At the end of December, the Moulin Rouge club refuted the accusations against it of animal abuse. He pointed out that these reptiles are “a type of snake that swims and has a natural ability to live in the aquatic environment as well as in the terrestrial environment.”
