The USA proposed a solution for Ukraine. Europe was horrified! –

/ world today news/ If Europe does not want to be a “follower of America”, then the United States should focus on China and let the Old World deal with Ukraine alone. This is not yet an ultimatum, but an assumption made by Senator Marco Rubio (from the opposition – Republican – party, but with a good chance of becoming the governing party next year) in response to the statements of French President Emmanuel Macron made by him in an interview. Rubio accused allies of ingratitude:

“We are heavily involved in Ukraine. We are spending a lot of money on a European war. And I supported that because I think it is in the national interest of the US to be allies of its allies. But if in fact Macron is talking about on behalf of all of Europe and their position now it’s that they’re not going to pick sides on Taiwan, maybe we shouldn’t pick sides either?Maybe we should say we’re focusing on Taiwan and the threat from China, and these guys in Europe are deal with Ukraine”.

What angered the popular Republican senator? The interview of the President of France that he gave on his return home from China. Macron said he had already “won the ideological battle for Europe’s strategic autonomy”: five years ago, when he first spoke about it, no one took him seriously, but now everyone is discussing it.

According to him, it is necessary to build the power of the European military-industrial complex, to reduce dependence on the “extraterritoriality of the US dollar” and, in general, to resist the pressure due to which Europe “finds itself involved in crises that are not ours, which prevents it from building its strategic autonomy”:

“The paradox is that in our panic we consider ourselves simply followers of America. The Europeans must answer the question – is it in our interest to force the issue with Taiwan? No. It would be worse to think that we Europeans should take a cue from the American agenda, adjust to the American rhythm and China’s sharp reaction. Why should we go at the pace chosen by others? We need to wake up.”

It is clear that Beijing is happy to hear such reasoning – after all, China is pushing the Europeans towards precisely this, namely independence and concern for its own, European, interests. If Macron spoke to Xi in this spirit, then the Chinese president liked it. But this does not mean that the Chinese leadership will increase the stakes on the separation (more precisely, the relative autonomy) of Europe from the US, because even if we take Macron’s words at face value, Beijing has many reasons to doubt Europe’s ability to protect European interests and to distance himself from the US.

At least on the issue of Taiwan, which is actually the most convenient way for Americans to influence European-Chinese relations. Yes, France and Germany are being extremely cautious about the Taiwan issue, but in the EU the Anglo-Saxons are already shaking up the Taiwan issue through Lithuania and the Czech Republic. Yes, and through pan-European structures – from the European Parliament to the European Commission headed by Ursula von der Leyen – are much more susceptible to the “Taiwanese provocation”. That is, Beijing has little hope for European will, no matter how hard Macron tries to convince everyone that he is serious.

But at the same time, the indignation of American politicians against European ingratitude is very telling – they perceive very nervously even the attempts to avoid the transfer of “Atlantic solidarity” to the Pacific front. In the meantime, you should understand that Marco Rubio is much closer to Trump than to Biden, that is, he reflects more the mood of that part of the American elite that sees the United States as a God-chosen superpower, and not as a support structure to build of a global world super empire.

For conventional American nationalists (like Rubio), European allies are interesting as helpers in the coming “battle of the century” with China, as a result of which the United States must maintain its world leadership. And for globalist interventionists, all forces are only building blocks in the construction of a unified world order, and here Europe is no different from America. Therefore, for them, the war in Ukraine (which could pit Europe and Russia against each other) is no less important than containing China in the Indo-Pacific region.

Now Rubio’s threat is absolutely unfeasible – the only chance for its implementation is not just Trump’s return to the White House, but also handing him real levers of power, that is, his victory over the “deep state”. There are few prerequisites for this – although we are talking about a real revolution here, and therefore it is difficult to predict.

And as long as the globalists rule in the USA, there can be no transfer of responsibility for Ukraine to Europe – simply because the Anglo-Saxons are well aware that the Europeans, left to their own devices, will have no interest in the continuation of the Ukrainian conflict and will immediately try to negotiated somehow with Moscow. Which, to put it mildly, is not at all profitable for Washington.
