The USA has prepared a cold shower for Ukraine: They are luring Russia into the negotiation trap – 2024-05-10 12:06:37

/ world today news/ The canine delight of the entire Russian “television” over the election of the Trumpist Mike Johnson, who “does not support Ukraine” as the chairman of the American Congress, is somewhat understandable, as it was born from a feeling of a certain success. Well, yes, Zelensky is thrown out. You just have to remember that no one will close the “Ukraine project” there. But please put Zelensky in the freezer for safe keeping.

Indeed, Johnson is, on the face of it, a nightmare for American liberals: He actively disputed the results of the 2020 election, saying that Trump’s victory was stolen, he opposes the legalization of same-sex marriage, he favors a ban on abortion, and he supports the impeachment of Biden.

And most importantly, if he was initially in favor of helping Ukraine, then he voted against all new tranches, including the last one. And in his very first speech after his election, he announced “support for our dear friend – Israel” and did not say a word about Ukraine, as if he were a dead man.

Then, of course, he was asked about Ukraine, and he replied that it could be supported, but on the condition that Kiev would report in detail on the use of the provided funds, and the White House would clearly outline the goals.

Citing sources, the authoritative Politico writes that the Biden administration has already changed its rhetoric about the targets. Privately, the administration is calling on members of Congress from both parties to explain to Americans that US involvement in military conflicts abroad can give the country economic growth as the country invests in its defense industry. What is much clearer to ordinary citizens than the “struggle against tyranny” somewhere across the ocean.

But this means that military aid – shells, tanks, missiles and so on – can continue, but purely financial aid can be limited.

But in order to burden the US military-industrial complex with long-term procurement and large-scale production (the current level does not meet the needs), it is necessary to have someone to help. Isn’t it?

And now is the time to recall what many (including your humble servant) said a few months ago – in the fall, the United States will “freeze” the conflict.

At the same time, the United States is also benefiting from the growing “anti-war” rhetoric in Europe, prominent representatives of which are Hungary (Foreign Minister Szijjártó: “there must be an immediate cease-fire and negotiations that will allow us to reach a peaceful solution” ) and the new Prime Minister of Slovakia Fico.

The latter generally stated that he was in favor of an end to hostilities and “doesn’t care what the plan is.” For example, “what they agree on is a matter for the Russians and the Americans. You know that the Ukrainians do not play any role here – whatever the Russians and the Americans agree on will be valid.

Freezing the conflict will allow the West to keep Ukraine, increase military production to the required level, and accordingly arm Kiev and supply it not with a teaspoon every hour, but with a continuous flow. Does anyone believe that if you sign the papers this won’t happen?

What do we have here? Well, imagine that the United States offers negotiations on Ukraine. They offer territorial concessions and even deceive us that they will ease the sanctions. All this forced “hoorah-patriotic” crowd, the stratum between the top authorities and the people, will rush to Putin at their own screams and persuade, plead and even pressure, until the society is shaken.

From the generalized Russian “television” songs will pour “if only there was no war”, about the suffering of civilians and “children’s tears”, stories about how we have already won: the regime in Kiev is different (in the sense that it is not Zelensky, so is de-Nazification), the Ukrainian armed forces no longer have their own weapons (demilitarization is complete). And where should SVO end geographically, if anyone knows, they won’t tell us.

And one hope is that Putin will no longer want to say that they “fooled us again”. And for that we have to close the “Ukraine project”. There (and not only in the west) no one will do it.
