Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have developed an all-terrain vehicle in the form of a “flying saucer” that can navigate the uneven surfaces of the moon and asteroids. About this on Wednesday, December 29, informs ScienceAlert.

The “plate” was made from a material called mylar. It will retain its charge when exposed to sunlight. Tiny ion beams are used both to charge a vehicle and to increase natural surface charge and counteract gravity.
According to the developers, their technology will help to examine the rocky surfaces of large asteroids and the Moon from close range and study their nature.
