Washington, Apr 15 (Sputnik) .- The United States will impose sanctions on a dozen Russian citizens and a score of entities for the alleged role of Russia in the cyberattack on the network monitoring company SolarWinds and the alleged interference in the presidential elections, The Bloomberg agency reported citing sources.
The US is also expected to expel 10 Russian officials and diplomats from the country, the report added.
The media points out that the measures could be implemented this Thursday.
On Tuesday, the presidents of the USA and Russia, Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin, had a telephone conversation, at the initiative of Washington.
Biden reaffirmed in it the goal of building stable and predictable relations with Russia and proposed holding a personal meeting in a third country in the coming weeks.
The Biden administration has already introduced a battery of sanctions and export restrictive measures against Russia for the situation with the opposition Alexei Navalni and the alleged use of chemical weapons by Moscow.
The White House declared that those measures are only the beginning and that there would be new sanctions.
On Wednesday, the Kremlin warned US Ambassador John Sullivan that Moscow will react decisively if Washington passes new sanctions against Russia.
