USA has prolonged the requirement that all foreigners who enter the country at borders with Mexico and Canada are vaccinated against covid, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported Thursday.
The authorities require that foreigners present proof that they have completed the vaccination schedule against covid-19 to enter the country by land or sea, a condition from which Americans or citizens with permanent residence in the United States are exempt. .
The requirement has been extended after “consulting with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and various other federal agencies,” the DHS said in a statement.
The US government “is committed to protecting public health while facilitating legitimate trade and travel, which is essential for our economic security,” says Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, quoted in the note.
