The White House announced a new $300 million military aid package for Ukraine on Wednesday. It includes air defense systems, ammunition and other military equipment, Reuters reported.
This is the 39th consecutive delivery of military equipment from the stocks of the US Department of Defense, the Pentagon announced. The package includes Patriot air defense systems, Stinger anti-aircraft systems, tank ammunition and other military equipment, the ministry announced.
In total, under President Joe Biden, the US has provided Ukraine with more than $38.3 billion in military aid, including several packages worth more than $37.6 billion since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022.
The previous $1.2 billion tranche was announced on May 9.
The US government does not know who is responsible for drone attack on Moscow this week, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby was quoted as saying by Reuters.
The US does not have “accurate information to indicate who is responsible”, the spokesman said, adding that Washington does not intend to investigate the case.
The US government has “no evidence” that Tara Reid, a former Biden aide who has accused him of sexual assault, was part of a Russian influence operation, the spokesman added.
In response to a reporter’s question about Reid, who on Tuesday requested Russian citizenship from President Vladimir Putin during an interview in Moscow and whose allegations were dismissed by Biden, Kirby said: “I have not seen any evidence or evidence of that.”
“I would leave this future Russian citizen to tell about her intentions and motivations,” added the spokesperson.
