White House announced that United States of America (USA) has shipped a supply of 3 million doses of vaccine corona virus (COVID-19) made by Moderna to Indonesia, this week. In addition to Indonesia, the US also sent supplies of the Corona vaccine to Nepal, Bhutan and Moldova.
As reported Reuters, Saturday (10/7/2021), White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, at a press conference on Friday (9/7) local time announced that the delivery of supplies Corona vaccine to the three countries was carried out this week.
It was stated that Indonesia and Bhutan would accept modern vaccines, while Nepal will receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. It did not say what type of vaccine Moldova would receive.
“For global vaccines, today we sent 3 million doses to Indonesia, 1.5 million doses to Nepal, 500,000 doses to Moldova, and 500,000 doses to Bhutan,” Psaki said in a statement as reported by the official White House website, Friday (9/9). /7) local time.
“With this shipment, for this week alone, we have delivered nearly 15 million doses to countries including Guatemala, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Afghanistan and Vietnam,” he added.
The delivery of this vaccine supply is part of the promise of the President’s government Joe Biden to distribute 80 million doses of US-made vaccines globally amid concerns about large gaps in vaccination rates in developed and developing countries.
Last week, US authorities announced plans to ship 1 million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to Malaysia.
