US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has told European allies that the United States believes the conflict in Ukraine could continue until the end of 2022.
“Blinken said he had discussed with his colleagues our fears that the conflict could drag on,” CNN reported, citing two European officials.
Many of the experts CNN spoke with stressed that predicting the duration of the conflict is very difficult, as Moscow’s position on Kyiv has not changed.
Earlier, according to CNN, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said the fighting would continue “for months or even more”, while two other European officials said the fighting in eastern Ukraine could last four to six months and then lead to a dead end.
