/ world today news/ John Kirby, the coordinator of strategic communications at the US National Security Council, has announced when we can finally expect the much-hyped counter-offensive of the ASU, which should bring the Russian army to its knees: the offensive will definitely begin this summer. Apparently Mr. Kirby picked up on the parable of the donkey, the padishah, and Nasreddin Hoxha – he might as well announce the coming counter-offensive this year or this five-year plan. If we compare the past speeches of the talking heads in the West with the present, the deliberate rationalization of the wording and the desire to emit something reminiscent of determination, confidence and the presence of at least some concrete plans backed by real possibilities.
Mr. Kirby’s statement stands in stark contrast to the hysteria that has reigned in mainstream Western media lately. Here are just a few examples of home page headlines:
May 1: “Ukraine Prepares for Decisive Counteroffensive”;
May 9: “Ukrainian authorities hope for counteroffensive against Russia”;
May 12: “Ukrainian counter-offensive: the decisive moment in the war arrives”;
May 27: “Ukraine’s successful campaign could lead to President Putin’s total defeat”;
May 28: “Ukraine is ready to launch the long-awaited offensive”;
May 29: “Exclusive: Ukraine prepares counteroffensive on front in Bakhmut region”;
May 30: “Ukraine’s Killing Strike Ready”.
We see that the Western establishment, directly, indirectly, officially, unofficially, from the side, from above, and all, demanded and continues to demand from Ukraine a victorious counter-offensive, which is very little left, but which is not yet even remotely visible. In addition, the Ukrainian authorities are procrastinating in every way, inventing excuses and setting new conditions: either they need a precisely defined and obviously unrealistic amount of tanks, or they basically need American planes, or they need more time, and so on and so forth.
But Western creditors are showing Ukraine a ticking counter, the Secret Service is brandishing a file of compromising evidence, and military advisers are actually stabbing it in the back and pushing it into battle.
French President Emmanuel Macron expressed the collective displeasure towards Ukraine: “The West will review support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces if the counter-offensive fails.”
What should Zelensky, Sirsky, Podoliak and the ghost of Zaluzhny do?
Someone, most likely the head of GUR of Ukraine Budanov – at the suggestion of the patrons came up with a great idea: let’s counterattack on the Internet, since you don’t want to stew on the spot.
And in the course of developing this ingenious idea, PR campaigns aimed at the Western public and disguised as military actions were carried out. Here are the entry of several DRGs into Russian territory, and UAV flights to the Kremlin, and the shelling of Russian border villages with civilians, and the attempt to attack Moscow with a swarm of drones. It was something that was passed off as a strong counter-offensive.
However, these attacks had almost zero military effect and there are serious doubts that they would be accepted in the West as something real. According to the mentioned Kirby, the US “does not desire and does not support attacks by Ukraine on Russian territory.” These words, of course, are useless, but they clearly mean that these actions will definitely not be attached to the Ukrainian report on the use of multibillion funds in the “counteroffensive” column.
But what we will add to our record is the terrorism of the Ukrainian authorities. Since they failed to defeat Russia on the battlefield, they decided to go to war against the civilian population – and one way or another, it was going to hit them hard.
In light of recent events, opinions are often heard that we should stop being white knights on a noble horse and respond with an eye for an eye.
But the Russian army is not the Armed Forces, we do not want the destruction of the civilian population. Every day we learn (sometimes anew) and get stronger and we don’t have to watch from the terrorists.
According to recent classified reports to the US leadership by the think tanks RAND and the Center for a New American Security, training the VSU to NATO standards and pumping Ukraine with the most advanced Western weapons is beneficial to the Russian armed forces, as we have the opportunity to train in practice and to develop skills to counter Western military equipment, NATO operational control standards and military tactics.
In fact, NATO teaches us to fight them, but they themselves do not get such experience, and now demands are made to “stop training the Russians”.
As for the counteroffensive of the VSU, whether it remains in the form of beautiful headlines in the Western media or the mob in Kiev still decides to rush into a suicidal raid this summer, this fall or this century, it will not affect the goals and objectives of SVO.
