The US Intelligence Community Predicts Ukraine’s Counteroffensive Goals Will Not be Achieved

The US intelligence community believes that Ukraine will not be able to achieve its goals during the counteroffensive. This was reported by The Washington Post on Thursday, citing sources.

According to them, the classified intelligence forecast concluded that Ukraine would not be able to reach Melitopol and destroy the Crimean bridge. This conclusion is due to the experience of protecting the territories that Russia has. Such forecasts are likely to provoke in “Kyiv and Western capitals the search for those responsible for the fact that the counter-offensive, for which tens of billions of dollars were allocated, Western weapons and military equipment, did not achieve its goals,” the newspaper writes.

As reported by the Russian Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian army has been making unsuccessful offensive attempts since June 4. According to the agency, in two months the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost more than 43,000 servicemen and about 5,000 units of various weapons, including 26 aircraft and 25 Leopard tanks. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin stressed that the Ukrainian troops are not successful in any direction.
