The US government report does not explain the UFO’s observations, nor does it rule out the possibility of foreign origin / Article

A report released by the US government on Friday provides an assessment of unidentified airborne phenomena recorded by American military pilots, concluding that defense and intelligence agencies do not have enough data to unambiguously determine the origin of flying objects. Modern terrestrial technologies, atmospheric phenomena or extraterrestrial manifestations may have been reported, Reuters reported.

The secret in a nine-page report includes 144 unidentified air phenomenon (NGF) observations, mostly by US Navy personnel since 2004.

The report, called the initial assessment, was prepared by the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence in collaboration with the U.S. Navy Task Force set up last year by the Pentagon. The authors of the report found that there was probably no single common explanation for the phenomena observed.

“The NGF is clearly an air safety issue that could pose challenges to U.S. national security,” the report said.

Only one of the 144 observations is explained by the appearance of a depressurized balloon, but in other cases further analysis is needed to determine whether an unknown US government or commercial manufacturer’s flying system was visible, or whether China or Russia were involved. The report does not rule out the possibility that any observations may be of extraterrestrial origin, but does not make this clear.

Some observations recorded unusual flight parameters, although the report allows for the possibility that they were caused by errors on the part of the data providers or by the misconception of eyewitnesses, and further analysis is needed to analyze them. High-ranking US officials spoke to the media only anonymously about the possible foreign origin of the objects.

“It is not the goal of the working group – to evaluate any search for extraterrestrial life,” said one of the officials. “In the 144 reports we have examined, we do not have a clear indication of their extraterritorial origin, but we will go in any direction the data will take us.”

Most reports describe situations that led to the suspension of US military training. In recent years, the U.S. government has used the term NGF to abandon the term UFO, or unidentified flying objects that has long been widely associated with alien spacecraft and other fictional elements.
