Nintendo is expecting today not just the new Switch hardware with live E3 time, but a dozen or so new games – as well as the much-anticipated public release window for the next Zelda game. To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the original, the game will be selling a new game & watch featuring the first three games of the series.
Among other things, Nintendo has shown remakes of remakes or titles from “Monkey Ball,” “Mario Party,” “Advance Wars,” Warrior Wear, and other series, and announced new entries in “Mario + Rapids” and “Shin.” Megami Tenzai” World. Other recently announced or teased games will change like the new “Defenders of the Galaxy”.
The addition of the new side-scrolling meroid game is simply amazing, the first in nearly 20 years – in fact, it’s been in development and out for half that time. The fifth “Madras Tread” in the mainstream series to launch on the NES will be released on October 8, and we’ll see if Nintendo can keep up with the pace that its predecessors had, but others have perfected.
Everyone was expecting Zelda news, but Nintendo… let us down a bit. As the broadcaster noted, it’s the 35th anniversary of the NES Original, a great time to announce something truly special, but they “have no other Nintendo Switch campaign or game planned.”
Instead, they offer acceptable glamorous games & watches in the style we saw last year released for the Mario series. I have a lot of good things about the device, and no doubt a new one would be nice. Pause the game and then retrieve (but can’t rewind or save states) Zelda creates a fun and surreal play from the first three games of the series: “The Legend of Zelda” and “Zelda II: The Adventure for the NES”, and “Connect Awareness” for gameplayRecently remade).
