The US congressman swears he has no more funds for Ukraine

WASHINGTON – If the Republicans win Congress back in next week’s mid-term elections, “not a penny will go to Ukraine”.

United States House of Representatives (USA) member Marjorie Taylor Greene confirmed this during a rally in Sioux City, Iowa on Thursday (11/3/2022).

He accused the ruling Democratic Party of prioritizing the Ukrainian military over American lives.

“The only border they care about is Ukraine, not the southern border of America. Our country is first, ”said Greene.

While polls show Republicans have a real chance to reclaim the House and Senate, Ukrainian politicians don’t seem to be worried about Greene’s promise.

Sviatoslav Yurash, a member of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s People’s Servant Party, told Newsweek on Friday that “the Greens are not the main part of the Republican discussion.”

“The fact that there are far right and far left in America who have different points of view is clear why America is a democracy,” he said.

He added: “As for the main perspectives on both sides of the aisle, the support for Ukraine is very clear.”
