MADRID, 2 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The United States Coast Guard has suspended this Friday the search for a ship that was scheduled to arrive at a Florida port last Tuesday from the Bahamas with 20 people on board and that never reached its destination.
On Tuesday, Coast Guard District Seven guards received a report that a blue and white vessel, ‘Mako Cuddy Cabin’ – thirty feet long – had not arrived as expected at Lake Woth harbor, Florida, from Bimini Island in the Bahamas.
After a search of approximately 84 hours and 44,000 square kilometers using ships and planes, the US authorities have decided to interrupt it.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the missing persons,” said District Seven Chief of Response Capt. Stephen Burdian.
“I encourage anyone with information about the people on board to contact us as soon as possible,” he asked.
