/ world today news/ The US Senate adopted the agreement to raise the government debt ceiling until February 7, reported AFP.
The majority of senators (81 to 18) voted in favor of the law, which was drafted a few hours earlier. With the adoption of the text, the US will avoid the risk of falling into insolvency, and in addition, the law guarantees the resumption of the work of government services that were closed on October 1.
The text is expected to be voted on by the House of Representatives a little later.
