The update to the iOS version of WhatsApp adds a multitasking feature that is already available on Android

The PiP works like this. When you join a video call and want to multitask by opening another app, quitting WhatsApp will minimize the video chat and let it float over other apps. You can slide it across the screen with your finger while the video chat continues and the other app you wanted to open is underneath it. The feature may not work immediately and WhatsApp says it will roll it out in the coming weeks.

The version 23.3.77 update also includes some other new features, including the ability to add captions when sending documents to contacts in personal or group chats. You can also use longer topic names and group descriptions when describing a WhatsApp group. After the update, these names and descriptions can be up to 2,048 characters long, which is a huge increase from the previously allowed 512 characters.

Stablemates Facebook and Instagram allow users to create personalized avatars, and now WhatsApp users can do the same. To create your own avatar, open the WhatsApp app and go to Ideas > avatar > Create your avatar. Follow the instructions and tap Completed. This is only the first step. To make your new avatar your profile picture on WhatsApp, open the app and tap on your profile picture. Then tap Edit > Edit.

Also this update is only for iOS as Android users already have picture-in-picture features for video chatting on WhatsApp. If you want to have WhatsApp for iOS version 23.3.77 immediately, You can install the version of WhatsApp from the App Store as it already includes the above features including PiP for video chat.
