Uzbekistan will host the General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). For the first time in history, the 25th session of the General Assembly is scheduled for October 16-20 this year in Samarkand. The choice of the United Nations in Uzbekistan indicates its strong position in the world tourism market , and on the effectiveness of its activities in international relations.
At the assembly, heads of government agencies, industry representatives and international business corporations dealing in the tourism sector from approximately 160 countries meet. Among them, heads of tourism ministries and tourist bureaus from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Albania, Azerbaijan, the Bahamas, Bahrain, Ivory Coast, Guatemala, Haiti, Indonesia, Monaco, Niger, Panama, Portugal, Sierra Leone, Ukraine, Uruguay and Yemen.
Uzbekistan was accepted as a member of the Committee on Approvals of the UNWTO Executive Council for the years 2023-2027. This means that Uzbekistan is entrusted with the authority to monitor the principles of decisions and documents adopted by the UNWTO Executive Board. The issues of international cooperation in the field of tourism will be discussed in panel meetings and several other large-scale conferences within the framework of the general assembly meetings.
The investment forum that will be held within the framework of the UNWTO will present to investors the facilities, areas and projects with investment potential in Uzbekistan. The forum brings together global investors in tourism, in order to present the positive investment environment created in Uzbekistan, and a solid legal framework for attracting foreign investments, and to develop cooperation between the participants. The goal is to form a positive opinion of the global community about Uzbekistan’s investment environment, and increase the interest of large foreign investors in investing in Uzbekistan. The event is expected to promote sustainable development by increasing the scope of investments in Uzbekistan, increasing Uzbekistan’s investment potential, and strengthening cooperation between sectors on a global scale.

Several villages in Uzbekistan participate in this competition.
