The unvaccinated continue to clog the health network

The Legault government confirmed at a press briefing that it wanted to add measures only to the unvaccinated, but confirms that the implementation of these measures would be too difficult.

“If we had been able to put a special curfew just for the unvaccinated and enforce it, this is something we would have looked at,” said the Prime Minister.

He made a point of recalling, early Thursday evening, that the unvaccinated were one of the main causes of pressure in hospitals.

“The unvaccinated are 10% of the population, but it’s 50% of hospitalizations. […] The unvaccinated are 10 times more likely to be hospitalized, ”lamented François Legault.

The government is therefore studying the possibility of extending the application of the vaccine passport to more types of businesses and services such as large-scale stores.

In closing, he responded to calls to end care for the unvaccinated on social media.

“This is not the kind of society we want in Quebec. We will not go in that direction ”, underlines the Prime Minister.
