Why is the Festival du film insolite more than just a meeting place for film buffs?
FB : Already eight past editions where we have experienced a thousand adventures. But what marks our editions is the phenomenal encounter between the public and the actors, directors, writers or producers on the occasion of conferences, round tables, presentations instituted or casual encounters in the streets of the partner villages. It is a festival that aims to be convivial, creative and fragrant. On the program, we screen a selection of unusual feature films, documentaries and short films on the annual theme of an element of the universe that enchants the public, stimulates the imagination and creativity. The international competition for unusual short films and documentaries, unusual short film scripts with several prizes (jury, public in particular).

What is the theme of this 9th edition?
GT : The 9th edition of the festival will take place from Thursday August 3 to Monday August 7 and will focus on air, oxygen, nature and human beings. We promise participants debates with scientists, producers, authors and journalists and the round table on the 6 August in Bugarach, will benefit from the participation and commitment of Jan Kounen, Antoinette Robiens, Domingo Cisneros or Jean-Philippe Teyssier. It will be carte blanche to the scientist, author editor-in-chief Maxence Layet.

Who are the big names present this year?
FB : After Pierre Richard, Lio, Jean-Pierre Dreyfus, Romane Bohringer, Jean-Pierre Mocky, Benoît Delepine, or Smaïn to name a few, the 2023 edition will be chaired by Julie Depardieu and Philippe Katerine and will be sponsored by director Jan Kounen.
Which places will be invested by the estival?
GT: The highlight of our events takes place outdoors at the Domaine de l’Abbé Saunière in Rennes-le-Château. This year, we will invest in other places steeped in history: the castle of the Dukes of Joyeuse in Couiza, the Paradisio cinema in Quillan, the prestigious hat factory in Montazels (Montcapel), unusual places in Bugarach, Couiza (Espace Robert Capdeville), Limoux, Montazels or Rennes-le-Château. Soon we will make a replica at the Domaine des Oiseaux de Revel and in the heart of the Cité de Carcassonne at the Hôtel de la Cité.
These five days of adventure will therefore be unforgettable…
FB: The festival organizes an unusual petanque with the association Entre-vues audoises (association on blindness). There will even be an unusual raffle on July 16 at the Alet casino, whose tickets will be on sale at the markets of Quillan, Espéraza, Limoux or on hello asso.
