“The Untold Story of Andy Verbauwhede, Tina Turner’s Long-Time Driver”

Ardooienaar Andy Verbauwhede is one of the few Flemish people who can say that he knew Tina Turner well. For years he was her regular driver. “Whenever Tina came to our country, I was her driver,” he tells Radio2 Spits. “At my limousine company Huur een Stuur BV from Ghent, we rent out limousines with a private driver for business people and artists.”

“In 1995 I suddenly received a phone call, in a rather mysterious way, that I had to be at Zaventem airport at a certain time. All gates were opened and I had to drive to the plane in question. On arrival it turned out to be Tina Turner. go,” says the driver.
