CR7 made his return to Manchester United this summer, and his transfer has been played out in a rather unusual place.
The last summer transfer window has some crazy surprises in store for us. The first obviously being the transfer of Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona to PSG. Cristiano Ronaldo then decided to make this transfer window a little crazier by making his return to Manchester United, twelve years later.
And at the start of the week, former Barça player and English football legend Gary Lineker gave a crisp detail behind the scenes of the CR7 transfer. This would indeed have been played in Lineker’s garden, as the latter confides on the podcast Match of the Day.
“I’m going to put the cards on the table. Ed Woodward is a good friend and he lives right next door to me. He signed Cristiano Ronaldo when he was in my backyard! When he got home he was on the phone with Jorge Mendes. I hope not to say too much. “
