The unknown and much-discussed “Tzima File” is re-released April 14 on Hot.Doc History – 2024-04-08 15:32:52

The “Tzima Archive” – which we offer on Sunday, April 14 – became a sensation when it was first released on December 3, 2023 because it published unknown documents about the official and responsible Soviet warnings: Not to involve the EAM Left and the KKE in a confrontation with the English during the Resistance. Alternately in the Decembers that followed. A conflict that ended with “Varkiza” and the defeat of the movement in the Civil War. With all who fell in an unequal conflict of appointed end.

It created many discussions about the first published documents of the “Tzima Archive”. In which the Soviet general Korneyev frankly and declared to “Samariniotis” that Greece was undesirable in the post-war world as the country that would implement democracy and socialism. On the contrary “it had to stay in the sphere of the West”.

Not random faces, both of them. Nikolai Korneyev of the GRU had lost his leg at Stalingrad in 1942 and in ΄43 a link was sent to Tito. There he met Andreas Tzimas, an emissary of ELAS. «England is extremely interested in Greece. We will not clash for your sake. Soviet Russia needs peace. And if we have the possibility to do something more, we shouldn’t!

A huge volume of documents emerges from the “boxes” of the Yugoslav archives and composes the missing piece of the great decade 1940-50 for anyone interested.
