The University of Alicante opens to the public today, Thursday, March 18, an exhibition that reviews the last two decades of Valencian music. The exhibition, which can be seen until June 30 in the Aifos Hall of the Campus (Philosophy and Letters Building III), presents a general overview of Valencian music, through its music groups, artists and their songs. With the title “Musical Spring. Valencian music revives ”, this proposal also makes a journey through graphic art, literature, festivals, the family environment, periodicals and the relationship with students.
The graphic image of the exhibition has been designed by Helga Ambak, a natural illustrator from Muro and who has carried out the artistic direction of groups such as Smoking Souls or ZOO. He has also collaborated on the designs of other groups such as Inèrcia or Mafalda. For one of these jobs, Translucent, from Smoking Souls, received the 2020 Ovidi Award for Best Design. In addition to projects related to music, Helga Ambak has illustrated books for the Sembra publishing house, board games, posters and various murals.
