The University Hospital of Leuven tested 4,505 patient samples for the new coronavirus.
Of this number, 502 tests were positive. In 52 cases, it was the confirmation of positive tests which had been initially carried out in another laboratory.
Eight patients infected with Covid-19 are currently being treated at the University Hospital of Leuven. They are located in isolation rooms in the intensive care and pulmonology departments.
