US President Joe Biden told Channel 12 that he would only use force against Iran as a “last resort” to prevent it from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Mr Biden also said the United States would withdraw from the stalled nuclear deal if it was made conditional on the removal of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from the blacklist of terrorist organizations.
During the interview, he also said that joining the deal “now depends on Iran.”
Asked whether Prime Minister Yair Lapid or former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett pledged that Israel would not act without first informing the United States, Joe Biden refused to answer, saying that ‘he’s not going to discuss this topic.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said his country had made “reasonable” demands during talks with major powers to get a deal on Iran’s nuclear program back on track.
“Iran has always acted completely rationally and put reasonable demands on the table,” Raisi said during a cabinet meeting, according to a statement on the presidency’s website.
