The United States Will Return to Afghanistan

WASHINGTON United States of America will return to Afghanistan although recently America’s military presence in the country of nearly two decades was declared over. It was due to the looming clash between Taliban and extremist groups such as the Islamic State (ISIS) will require American military action in the country.

This was revealed by the Republican senator, Lindsey O. Graham, in an interview with the BBC.

“We’re going back to Afghanistan,” Graham said. “We have to do it, because the threat will be very big,” he continued as quoted from The Washington Post, Tuesday (7/9/2021).

He said Afghanistan would become a cauldron for radical Islamic behavior, giving the United States only two options.

“You can say it’s no longer my problem or hit them before they hit you,” he insisted.

Graham, a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump, praised the former Republican president’s actions in Afghanistan and in the Middle East in the same interview, having previously called for Biden’s impeachment over the withdrawal.

Graham had visited Afghanistan several times, including with Biden in 2009, more than a decade earlier.

“The Taliban are not reformed, they are not new people,” Graham said.

“They will provide a safe place for al-Qaeda who have ambitions to drive us out of the Middle East, and attack us for our way of life,” he said.
