The United States is meddling in the case of the missing Chinese tennis player. Washington on Friday said it was “very concerned” about the fate of Peng Shuai, who disappeared after accusing a former senior Chinese Communist Party official of having raped her. White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki called on Beijing to provide “verifiable evidence” regarding the athlete’s safety and whereabouts.
“We know that (the Chinese government) has zero tolerance for people speaking out, and a track record of silencing those who speak out,” said Jen Psaki.
