Speaking to Reuters, a senior US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the US had urged Ukraine to wait for the last batch of US weapons and the completion of the exercise.
He added that Washington is still sticking to its decision not to provide Abrams tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
It is noted that the United States refused to transfer M1 Abrams tanks to Kyiv, citing problems with maintenance and logistics.
