Russia’s Vladimir Putin stepped up the Ukraine crisis on Monday. He agreed to recognize two rebellious republics in the neighboring country. He also ordered military action.
The West immediately condemned it. On Tuesday night, the announcements came from the EU and the USA. The British and Canada also struck. Named Russians are blacklisted in Brussels, London, Washington and Ottawa.
At the same time, tougher measures are pending, including the so-called “nuclear button”.
