Russia gave a strong reaction to the plan United States of America (USA) send Patriot missile defense system sophisticated a Ukraine. Moscow has stressed that the US plan could trigger unexpected consequences and would threaten global security.

“If this is confirmed, we will see another provocative move by the (Biden) administration, which could lead to unpredictable consequences,” the Russian embassy in the United States said in a statement.
The Russian embassy said continued arms deliveries to Ukraine “will only strengthen the regime’s (President Volodymyr) Zelensky’s sense of impunity and encourage him to new crimes against civilians” in the four Ukrainian regions annexed to the Kremlin.
“Washington’s strategy has caused great damage not only to US-Russian relations, but has also created further risks to global security,” the Russian embassy said in a statement criticizing US support for Ukraine.
Strong reactions were also given by Kremlin or the Russian presidential office on the planned delivery of the Patriot missile defense system. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov he said any Patriot missile delivered to Ukraine would “certainly” be a legitimate target for Russian troops.
However, Peskov declined to comment much on the grounds that the US plan had not been officially confirmed.
The Patriot missile system is considered one of the most advanced US air defense systems, which can be used to intercept aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles. These advanced air defense systems usually include launchers along with radar and other support vehicles.
