The United States will sell 12 Seahawk attack helicopters and one Grower electronic warfare aircraft to Australia for more than $ 1 billion, the State Department said.
Australia, which recently entered into a strategic partnership with the United States and the United Kingdom to counter China’s territorial ambitions, has asked for 12 MX-60-R helicopters.
The U.S. government has notified Congress that it has decided to comply with the request, the State Department said.

Canberra also wanted to buy a Boeing EA-18G Groller, which specializes in disrupting communications. The US government has accepted this request as well.
