The United States is consulting with Poland on the possibility of Poland supplying destroyers to Ukraine

Washington and Warsaw are discussing the delivery of Polish fighter jets to Ukraine, a White House spokesman said.

The United States is trying to determine how it could support Poland if it decides to move planes to Ukraine, a White House spokesman said.

He said sending the destroyers to Ukraine was a “sovereign decision that can be made by any country”, but said a number of logistics issues needed to be resolved, including how the plane would be transferred from Poland to Ukraine.

Ukraine announced on February 28 that Ukrainian pilots had arrived in Poland to receive warplanes from European Union (EU) partners. We were talking about Soviet fighters, such as the MiG-29, with which Ukrainian pilots have already been trained to drive.

The Ukrainian parliament even clarified that 28 MiG-29s will come from Poland, 12 from Slovakia and 16 from Bulgaria, as well as 14 Su-25s from Bulgaria. However, these EU countries later officially stated that they did not intend to hand over fighter jets to Ukraine.

Among other things, Polish President Andrzej Duda stressed that his country was “not going to send any planes into Ukrainian airspace”, saying “this would lead to military intervention in the conflict”.
