The United States included another company from Kazakhstan on the sanctions list

The US government focused on the threat to national security.

“The US Government has determined that these actors are contrary to the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States,” he said.

In addition to the Turkish company’s branches in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the sanctions list included 64 Russian and 42 Chinese companies, 8 Turkish companies, 11 Iranian companies and one entity each from Canada, Cyprus, Ukraine and the UAE.

According to the release, previously the following Kazakh companies were included in the US and EU sanctions lists: Defense Engineering LLP, Elem Group LLP and Da Group 22 LLP, which are suspected of they supply electronic equipment, integrated circuits and other dual-use products to Russia.

“In June 2024, KBR-Technologies LLP, registered in the North Kazakhstan region, was added to the list of sanctioned companies. The company, according to the US Treasury Department, has provided several parts for the assembly of drones.

As investigative journalists previously wrote, three companies were registered in Kazakhstan – KBR-SMT, KBR-Trans and KBR-Technologies – which acted as intermediaries in the supply chain of goods to Russia, avoiding sanctions. At the same time, the cargo did not even reach Petropavlovsk, but went straight to Minsk, from where it went to Moscow.

In early July 2024, the United States changed the sanctions regime against Russian individuals and companies and regularly warns of the introduction of secondary sanctions against third parties that will help Russia escape sanctions,” the publication writes.

Now counterparties from third countries will face secondary sanctions from the American authorities for doing business with licensed Russians and companies from Russia.
