The United States, Great Britain and 16 other countries have signed an agreement on the safe use of AI

The next important step in the safe use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the national and enterprise segment was taken last Sunday. It is reported that the United States, Great Britain and 16 other countries, including Estonia, have signed an agreement on the safe use of AI solutions.

This agreement is described as the first detailed international agreement on how to “prevent unscrupulous individuals from using AI solutions and how to encourage companies to build secure AI systems.”

In the 20-page document unveiled on Sunday, 18 countries agreed that companies developing and using AI solutions must ensure that customers and the wider public do not misuse the technology. Jen Easterly, director of the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, stressed the importance of countries recognizing the need for a secure approach to AI development and encouraged other countries to sign the agreement.

In addition to the United States and Great Britain, countries such as Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Australia, Singapore, as well as neighboring Estonia and others have signed the agreement. It should be noted that Europe has made progress in this area by trying to propose specific laws to regulate the development and release of new AI systems.
