The Unirai union boycotts the journalists’ strike

The 1.30pm edition of Tg1 broadcast regularly, in defiance of the strike called by Usigrai. The boycott of the right-wing union Unirai decided on Friday has had its first effects. Macheda (Usigrai): “We will check for any violations”

Secretary Usigrai, Daniele Macheda, says: “We will verify if there have been no violations of the right to strike. We will see what product they manage to produce. I would also like to say that if a minority manages to broadcast an edition of the news it only shows that the majority is redundant. If anyone in the future proposes redundancies in Rai, he will know who to call. There is no harm being done to the union but to the entire editorial team.”

On another point Macheda insists: “Parties out of Rai.
