The unique wand for wizards, Okulus, isn’t as bad as it seemed at the beginning of Diablo 4’s first season. The problem is that the build for this weapon is not for every player.

The critically acclaimed first season of Diablo 4 introduced several unique items to the game, which initially did not appeal to the players.
One new piece of equipment deserves special mention – the two-handed Okulus wand for wizards, which instantly became “meme” among the gaming community and a symbol of the demise of this character class.
It is worth noting that the Okulus is not a completely new item in the series. The wand first appeared in Diablo 2.
This unique weapon converts dodge to teleport. Doesn’t sound that bad, does it? The problem is that the teleport takes the player not to where the cursor is, but… to a random place.
It turns out, however, that the devil is not so terrible (bad) as he is painted, and the wand in a certain combination is quite effective, and at the same time extremely effective.
This build isn’t that bad
Why does a mocked wand work so well in action? “Build” with Okulus works thanks to the so-called. filthy hearts that replace the functions of jewels in jewelry.
One of them provides 30% damage reduction after teleporting, which greatly increases the survivability of wizards – their Achilles’ heel in the late game.
The above combination, combined with boots that reduce the cooldown of dodge, causes the character to teleport almost every second, while always having the defense bonus active.
This build, together with properly distributed stats, already now, i.e. before the upcoming buffs for the wizard, allows you to easily “clean” the Nightmarish Dungeons of rank 40 from monsters.
Admittedly, this is not the absolute best option for wizards in Diablo 4, but it’s hard to call this build a meme and weakness, which was considered when revealing the novelties of patch 1.1.0.
Not for photosensitive people
Unfortunately, teleporting is not for everyone. Due to the huge chaos that prevails on the screen, this combination is not recommended for players who react poorly to dynamic flashes of light.
Playing this build can feel like a “matrix glitch”. This is not idle talk, part of the community notesthat looking at such gameplay, you can quickly get a headache, which excludes many hours of “farming”.
I was hoping it wasn’t as bad as it seemed and it would be of some use. However, after playing with it for just over an hour, I start to get headaches from the unpredictable movement this wand gives.
Interestingly, this combination among players – rightly as it seems – is compared with the so-called Flicker strike from Path of Exile.
