“Nabil”, in statements to Masrawy, said that the step to import eggs is disastrous and fights local production, explaining that it is not known how legitimate and safe they are and that they have not the infection with any diseases that would affect the chickens. they are mixed.

He continued: “There is also a directive from the political leadership to localize the business. When we imported eggs, it would be better to import serum and chicken feed, so the prices would have gone down, but the decision to import would fight against agents.”

Nabil pointed out that the poultry market started to recover from the first of October, that is, with the end of periods of high temperatures and the atmosphere returning to normal.

It should be noted that the Minister of Supply earlier announced that the Property Company for Food Industries, through its subsidiaries, had contracted to supply quantities of up to one million egg trays. in, equivalent to 30 million high-quality table eggs.

The first shipment of imported eggs has already arrived on October 20, 2024, through Cairo International Airport, and is being shipped in the months of October and November 2024.

The minister said that pumping levels in consumer centers will be increased in large quantities, reaching 10,000 dishes per week at a price of 150 pounds per dish (30 eggs), which will contribute to meeting the needs of the market Egypt and stabilizing Egyptian prices. table eggs.
