The union corrected the anti-Bulgarian doctrine from the Berlin Congress – 2024-08-17 04:03:10

/ world today news/ “September 6th is indisputable proof of the achievements of the national spirit, when it refuses to comply with agreements of division and humiliation”, said the chairman of the Plovdiv Socialists, Krasimir Trifonov, on the occasion of the national holiday and Plovdiv Day. He noted that the act of the Unification leaves us with an immortal covenant – Europe only complies when we show a united will and willingness to sacrifice ourselves in the name of a national ideal. He and the People’s Representatives from “BSP for Bulgaria” Prof. Ivo Hristov, Associate Professor Georgi Yordanov and Teodora Halacheva laid flowers on the monument of Zahari Stoyanov and the memorial plaque of Capt. Raicho Nikolov.

“The lesson for us today is that when we are determined to defend our right to live together on our own land, we can change our destiny,” added the leader of the Plovdiv Socialists. Therefore, he wished his fellow citizens and all Bulgarians to regain their confidence in self-defense and the protection of national values.

According to the vice-chairman of POS, Associate Professor Angel Ivanov, the Unification surprised European public opinion and proved the failure of the Berlin Congress and the Berlin Treaty. The youngest member of parliament, Teodora Halacheva, shared that for her the Unification is not just a territorial unification of the Principality of Bulgaria with Eastern Rumelia. “The union of 1885 is a powerful fusion of collective spirit and will in the name of a national ideal!” she pointed out.

“Today is a bell day that we can lose what our grandfathers did”, warned the national representative from the left Prof. Ivo Hristov. He called the Unification “the beginning of the Bulgarian flight, the momentum of the Bulgarian Revival, a manifestation of the character of the Bulgarians and the straightening of the Bulgarian Atlas”. The professor of sociology of law did not hide his indignation from the national media and criticized the journalistic interpretations in the discourse “today is a day of ethnotolerance, multiculturalism and understanding of togetherness and European values, an emanation and symbol of which is the city of Plovdiv”. According to him, the logical question “Who divided Bulgaria?” is deliberately omitted. “As soon as there is a Union, before that there was a division, and the facts are that Bulgaria was divided by the British Empire, the German Empire and Austria-Hungary”, Prof. Hristov recalled the historical circumstances and emphasized: “The Union is the only independent national act that was done not thanks to Europe, but in spite of Europe, despite the consensus of the Great Powers and their plans for the Bulgarians to leave nothing as the largest ethnic group in the Balkans”. In his words, thanks to “crazy heads” such as Zahari Stoyanov, Major Chardafon, Gen. Danail Nikolaev and their like-minded people, this anti-Bulgarian perspective was avoided by the logic of the Berlin Treaty.

The celebration for Plovdiv began today with a solemn bell ringing and a prayer, celebrated by Plovdiv Metropolitan Nikolay in the Cathedral Church “St. The Virgin”.
