Here is the story of my parents:
Isabelle and Émile, a couple living in Rock Forest, will have 60 days after the end of the town’s work to pay the sum of $ 63,000. The work consists of paving and water connections under their land lot, but at their own expense, in order to supply the new residential area which will be located behind their land. No other neighbor will have to pay an amount and the city refuses an expectation of payment, which means they will have to pay the amount owed in one installment. With the donations collected, the family will have less weight on their shoulders and will be able to keep their home without declaring bankruptcy. For a couple in their fifties, this stress is unwelcome, especially in times of a pandemic. It makes no sense to have to pay this absurd amount for work that is not theirs.
For several years, the couple has been living in this city, but having known, he would never have moved in or bought this house with a beautiful view of a wooded area which is now razed.
So, on behalf of my parents, Émile and Isabelle, I ask you, from the bottom of my heart, to help them have peace of mind and a second wind for their future. It is also hard for us, their children (Sabrina, Sandrine and Antoine), that our parents experience constant stress linked to this story.
