The Unfulfilled Promises of the Netherlands Aircraft Company: A Critical Review

Well, this company does have a less good reputation for keeping promises. This is the company that was originally called Rekkof, then it was called the Netherlands Aircraft Company, and now they have another name.

In 2010, they also received a 20 million euro subsidy from the government for the development of two new aircraft, the Fokker F90 NG and Fokker 130 NG, it was then said that they would “fly within a few years”, but since they have received their subsidy, almost nothing new has come out, and it is still completely unclear when those aircraft will fly and be sold.

And now that they are going to develop a third device, in addition to the 2 that they have been working on for over 13 years, it is quite doubtful that a new company (after all, they have not yet launched anything on the market) can develop three new devices at the same time. Even Boeing and Airbus are struggling to develop several new aircraft at the same time (not one after the other).

And now collecting millions in subsidies again, while it is unclear when those 20 million in previous subsidies will yield a concrete end result.

I won’t say it can’t be done, but the history of the company gives at least serious reason to doubt the end result, and at the very least to be very critical of it.
