The unfair situation of the Albacete victim of squatters jumps to Telecinco with Ana Rosa

On Saturday in Masquealba we told you the unfair story of Consuelo, a woman from Albacete who owns a home on Doctor Ferrán Street for which she has accumulated unpaid rent for more than a year and for which she has neither been able to get paid nor they return it to you.

That day he had started a hunger strike, which he continued later on the terrace of the building or at the door of the courts. Her story has been echoed by other media in the province and region and this Tuesday it was Ana Rosa’s program on Telecinco that gave several minutes, live, to this woman from Albacete to expose her unjust situation, which, as she herself confirmed today to Masquealba remains unresolved.

Consuelo’s economy is not the most buoyant either and she says, distressed, that right now she is dedicating more than half of her salary to paying the mortgage on a home for which she does not receive the agreed rent and, furthermore, she is unable to pay. to the tenants, to whom you are paying the community or gas bills.

The mortgage, for example, has risen from 400 to more than 600 euros this year, with the upward revisions of the Euribor and its situation is desperate. This has caused a hunger strike to begin today on the roof of the building, on Doctor Ferrán Street, in order to make visible a situation whose solution has also delayed last year’s strike in Justice.

On Saturday, after starting their strike, the neighbors had to notify the Local Police, who showed up at the scene and took her to the Hospital to receive psychological help, as she told us from there. He does not doubt that he needs it “because this situation is making me hit rock bottom,” but the injustice he is going through, and which he has told Masquealba, shows the problems of some homeowners, who are not landowners, who do not want to speculate with a second property that they may have acquired or inherited, for example, and who are faced with non-paying tenants.

Desperate, Consuelo denounces that her situation already entails “two suspended eviction orders.” She indicates that the woman who rented her home has been out of the country from July 2022 to October 28, 2023. Thus, the eviction on October 20 could not be carried out because they had not been able to communicate it to her. . But the surreal situation that this desperate owner faces does not end here.

He assures that his tenant was registered as self-employed until November 7. On November 13, there was already an eviction order communicated. On the 8th she had registered as a job seeker and a day later she went to court and managed to stop the eviction, “as she was then in a vulnerable situation.”

“If your situation is vulnerable, mine is too, and if you need help with housing, Social Services will have to give it to you; I cannot allocate more than half of my salary to it,” he laments.

The woman rented the apartment to him four years ago and also registered her three children there, who left after a few months, although about two and a half years ago one of them, 21 years old, returned and now resides here.

Consuelo assures that she has spoken with him to get her home returned, for which she has not charged rent since the summer of 2022, and that the answer is that “I can be in your house without paying because your country allows me to.”

According to the Constitution, Justice is equal for everyone. But it does not have the same price for everyone, as Consuelo regrets, who insists that this fact is damaging her already precarious situation, because “my tenant has neither a lawyer nor a solicitor and in one hour an eviction is paralyzed, while I have to pay and on Monday, in court, they told me that they would not be able to assist me until December 31.”

Remember that your home has a mortgage because when the community did the work to install the elevator, each neighbor had to pay 14,000 euros. She could not afford that expense and since she had to take out a loan, she did a small renovation in the kitchen and bathroom in order to rent the house.

A rental that turned into a nightmare and that this Saturday led Consuelo to need medical help. She insists that it is only fair that they can return her house, aware that she will not recover the money that she has lost until now, but at least that she does not have to continue paying them expenses that are unsustainable.

I cannot be supporting a person whether vulnerable or not because that is what social services are for. “I’m also vulnerable,” he says.

This morning he started a hunger strike because “this has made me hit the ground.” She planned to continue demonstrating, from the terrace of the building whose home she owns, she cannot access until the Justice system resolves her situation, although the Police have transferred her to the Hospital.

Through this complaint she wants to bring her voice to whoever it may concern so that they can provide a fair solution to a problem that is consuming her and that is causing heavy economic losses to a working person.
