The picture loved by millions had to look completely different.
The fairy tale “Morozko” was presented to the Soviet audience in the mid-60s. Alexander Rowe’s film instantly captivated first the audience of the USSR, and a little later – foreign movie lovers. And especially the fans appreciated the game of young Natalya Sedykh, who was only 15 years old.
However, Rowe did not originally plan to cast Grays in his film. He expected that Nadezhda Rumyantseva, known to the audience from Girls, would play in his film. And the director was not at all embarrassed that the artist was 34 years old. He was sure that she would perfectly cope with the role of Nastenka.
But one day he met Natalya, who studied at the Moscow Choreographic School. The director was captivated by a slender ballerina with big eyes, and he immediately changed his mind. The director invited the young actress to his film, and she won the love of fans and became an international star.
